Help,,, Just about to but a VX220 2.2, i've got full no claims and getting close to the big 40, but have just been told by my current insurer LV, that they will only insure if i get a Tracker fitted. i know these are fairly desirable cars but they aren't exactly super expensive cars tat get stolen all the time. I will be paying £280 to insure it with LV (although i am alreay part way through my policy). They also want to increase my excess and window screen cover I am thinking of changing insurance companies, any recomendations please?

Plenty of threads for insurance with lists of decent insurers, look to see if you can get your ncb mirrored over as well. Would expect it to be around that figure for the year unless it's going to be a daily.

Adrian Flux sorted mine out for me and were able to get a decent price for me, with my NCB that is used on another car "taken into consideration". I'm sure some of that is sales talk, but they're worth a try.

Not sure if this is any use, but here is a list of companies various members have recommended on the forum :

AON http://www.specialistcars.aon.co.uk/
Chris Knott
Adrian Flux 08000 83 88 33
Competition Car Insurance (CCI) 0115 941 5255
Haggerty via Henderson Taylor Insurance 0161 437 7442
HIC https://www.hertsinsurance.com/
Henderson Taylor on 0161 437 7442 (ask for Matthew) http://www.henderson...ntaylor.co.uk/"
Heritage http://www.heritage-quote.co.uk
A-Plan http://www.aplan.co....quote.php?int=0
Admiral http://www.admiral.com
Richard Egger 0115 985 0165
Classic Line

I'm actually with Admiral, although they don't do track days. I figured if I do do track days, then I'd just buy the insurance for the day.

always worth a run through this list bob post a few years back.

Hmm thanks for posting that! I bought one about 18 months ago at a Landrover show.. told them I would delay delivery as I knew I had no time to fit it.. Still haven't contacted them to have it sent out! :beat:

Doh! :beat: To be fair the guys are really good. I picked mine up at AutoSport International for £100. Chuffed with the unit and service.

I would recommend trying Admiral (there multi-car option if you have more than one car) I shopped around for ages and they were the cheapest for me. (oh and no tracker yet)

Wow, thanks for all your help, this seems like a great forum and it's my first post... Now it's just the drudgery of ringing around to get my quotes in. I'm viewing my potential new car this weekend, if i get it i will soon be on here asking for your advice. :) and more likely be asking if one of you can give it a quick look over for me.
