Why not a hydraulic one Jimmy? Surely much easier to use and not usually made of cast iron.


Prefer the feel of these older ones. So much easier to press bearings and bushes in and out with a manual than a hydraulic imo. Just rare as hens teeth :(

Old skool tools rock! I agree with Jimmy on the operation and feel of old machinery. Thats why I have an old myford lathe. I've been tempted to swap for the delights of DRO's but I've stuck with it.

Funnily enough I'm working at a customers site where I used to work myself many moons ago!!!

Here's the exact press I put the hours in on and want to replicate in my garage
