ah so i would need to undo the bolt on the alternator to get the movement to release the belt easier


I think you will still need to drop the bottom pulley off, as this slot in the altenator bracket only really alows you to tention the belt, it possibly wont be enough movement to get the belt off unless you try siztenboots method of belt removal

To be remove / refit, you need to remove the tension, even with the bottom pulley unbolted, the flange on the pulley to the crank and the tension will frustate efforts to remove it otherwise.

I've just recebntly had this done, brought the courtenay one with 858mm belt. i seem to be getting a squeak when i change gear and a slight tapping noise when under throttle, is this normal?
