Diffuser... Should I Bother?

Hi all, really tempted to buy a rear diffuser. i plan on doing some track use. i know it wont generate any downforce but i do find the car a bit too light above 80mph and think this should solve the poor clam design flaw. I've searched for them on Google and there seems to be quite a few available. So i'm just after some advice really, 1. Are they worth bothering with for performance / styling 2. The best one to go for for around £200 3. Is it worth spending more on a CF one? 4. how many "fins" should i go for? Thanks, Andy

I have a TAT short diffuser, I don't believe it makes a jot of difference, but I think it looks great :)

hmm i thought as much, think it's more of a styling mod rather than a performance upgrade.

Thanks for your advice, i think i'll leave it for now. It's at the top of my Christmas list though :)

In the premium section of the forum there is some computer airflow models and discussion on this. As I understand it the fins need to nearly touch the ground and the outer ones need to block off the wheels, otherwise not effective. So deck the car or lower the diffuser somehow without making holes for air to bypass. May act as a placebo for some though ;) I do love the look mind!

If it feels unstable at 80 try checking tyre pressures and geo first. Diffusers are mainly cosmetic.

Tat short looks lovely but next to useless

Most diffusers are cosmetic, if you want a functioning one, you need long fins, ones that stick out about 12" from the back and almost touch the ground I'm lead to believe. I have a short CF one from chrissvx220, only added for cosmetics, but it makes the side profile of the car look aggressive :)

Nope, I don't think there are any commercially available vx220 diffusers that are actually effective.
Certainly not on standard or near standard ride height.

No, never spoken to jt, he sounds like a prick from what I can understand and read from the forum lol.

MrSimba mentioned it I beleive.
