just tell them it's a vxr and try to bluff it?Hi all,
I'm after ome advice really, i have about 4 or 5 small chips in my windscreen for motorway miles. one of the chips is less than 3cm from the side of the surround so they say they'll have to replace as their tool wont fit to fix the chip.
However i just spent £10 on a nice windscreen wrap and i dont want a silver windscreen surround! What's the best thing to say to get hold of a black one? just tell them it's a VXR?
Any ideas?
ps £75 for a new screen with my insurance windscreen excess.

There is a thread of my experiences somewhere.
I had mine done last month.
£75 through Autoglass, they just booked it in as an Exige and therefore fitted a black surround screen.
Super easy to do and no questions or hesitations.
Mmm interesting when I asked Autoglass about replacing my screen they told me I would have to take it to a garage and have the front clam moved forward. Then call them to get the screen changed. Did you have this problem or did Autoglass move the clam.
Kind regards, Paul

I think Wolfy and Coco had theirs done by a place well known for VX work and clam was loosened and moved to get the new screen in. Very good work by all accounts

Yep. Autoglass in Northampton did mine. Loosened a couple of clam bolts just so it moved forward a bit. They knew exactly what they were doing and had done plenty of VXs before. They were also more than happy to get me a black screen if Id wanted.
