Very good and does make you think twice about life and what's in it. Next Friday should be a cracker!

Agreed. I'm not a Derren Brown fan, in fact I don't think I've seen any of his programmes before but this happened to be starting as I was surfing and caught my attention. It really was excellent. I'm not one to wish my life away but next week can't come too soon!

I was really looking forward to this, the concept is brilliant. The acting of the 'victims' isn't brilliant however. I've been laughing my head off at the zombies doing the stereotypical zombie walk... really? and the little coloured/black girl has no emotions at all. It's almost like Derren went to a failing GCSE drama class and stole the teachers worst students.

I thought it was excellent, it felt a bit like watching a behind the scenes movie before all the post processing. It could be the editing and who knows how you would react but the guy barely seems bothered that it is all happening, I suppose that is the point to see evolve in the next episode. Reminds me of The Game with Michael Douglas, which is also excelent.

I really like his books, and I really respect him (if you watch assassins you will see me on it) he donated artwork to a charity event I was running. Very complex man, although a lot of his shows get taken ver by the producers.

I thought it made for entertaining viewing and I enjoyed it but I have to question just how susceptable you would have to be to fall for it all. I am pretty sure if I was in the same situation they would have to go to much more elaborate lengths than what a TV show would allow to convince me. I guess that is why they had such a thorough selection process and chose the guy they did. The editing all seems very convenient and I agree the acting is a bit dodgy and far from believable in places. More to it than meets the eye IMO.

I think years of films like 28 days later and many wasted hours spent on COD Zombies would make me believe it in an instance. lol

 I think they would need to have the drama extend beyond an isolated prop ridden set and actually have dead bodies around and amputee actors with extensive make up gore on there stumps to freak me out. The rotting bread was a nice touch. If I was to actually have pain and discomfort inflicted I would think it a step to far to be a ruse, that would have me believing.

I'm gutted by it, it's so fake!! The 'victim' is SO in on it!!

The bit on the bus when all the sh*t special effects meteor shower was going on when Derren ran up to the guy touched his head and he immediately went into a trance!!??!!?? WTF as if that's possible!!! Hypno Ninja Brown would be an international agent of the secret service if he could do that to strangers. Idea sounded ace but turned out bollocks!!!

Rupert Murdock got into so much trouble over phone hacking yet Mr Brown can completely hack everything in this guys phone/twitter etc.....

I can';t take it seriously I'm afraid.

:yeahthat: 4ODed it after seeing it here. Thought it was shit. Agree with jimmy about the hypno thing. Really? Does anyone think that in a moment of panic, of fight or flight, some dude comes up to you and you go to sleep? Not believable. The only thing derren brown pre-conditions is the viewer. Showing groups of people aleep in a room makes you think his hypno crap is possible. Sowing a geeky looking guy with lots of matrix style numbers on his screen makes you think he can do anything with a mobile phone. And the list goes on and on.

Agree. I have no understanding of this hypno stuff (not even sure I buy the whole concept at all) but maybe a believer would say that a past encounter (during the audition stage) would have implanted a 'trigger word' or action into the mind that could be called upon to re-send them into a state of submission? :tt:

Seen it done to people I knew. Terrifying tbh For anyone that watched Heroes, I though Derren Brown in his cap was the real life Sila.
