Good luck with the build should be too difficult once the clam has been repaired/replaced.

Irrespective of colour it becomes very apparent after 4 years that vinyl is a short sighted way to change colour. Paint is best all day long - id be happier with a carefully rattle canned car. So far its coming off pretty well though - medium term i think Kawasaki green will be nice, subtle and stylish. FLD... You are welcome to come and help me fix the old clam! Im in the emirates lounge at Manchester airport so cant post pics from this ishite, but car has come one a good way. Crashbox bonded on, ally radiator with twin fans fitted, rad surround fitted. Arch liner mountings sorted with stock style metal inserts, and the clam mounting point on the fibreglass sill repaired. Shes holding water too. Clam (replacement) is trial fitted but needs some work as its had a small repair and this needs finishing off. A few repairs needed to wiring etc too. Oh and i cracked the bloody screen!!

And my first vx on the right :)

It used to belong to Flashash and was very tidy when I saw it last. Sold to a young'un which probably explained the front clamage.

edit: Just remembered how well it went when he took it to Brands, make sure you try it as is before you SC it.

I think the blue N/A now belongs to mofish69

Good work john NON Turbo thumbsup thumbsup

Liz did me a package deal on a repair-your-own vx kit, she was very reasonable and even delivered - though i live less than 2 miles from her house, im sure its not generally practicable. I even had a choice of crashboxes actually. Thumbs up to Liz.

Quick update:-

Been mostly busy working on my Turbo for sale, and had limited time over christmas too.The peeling has been coming on, but having thought about my VIC test to scrub the cat c status, I reallise that they have it down as white, so i may leave some white on it for that reason for now. I'm part way through booking the test however.

Ive bought VXT injectors for it, the supercharger is in the post and has been for very nearly a month. I think USPS may have lost it the useless bunch!!
I'm not sure what I'll do if thats the case, I'm more skint than I have been for 5 years.

Front of its provisionally back together - no bolts in, no arch liners, indicator and abs sensor wiring needs sorting.
Internal structure of pass side light repaired, and my old hole'd turbo cluster is on the other side. It starts and the lights work and it holds water.

The massive outstanding workload is bodywork and then tuning related.
I've bought a used set of nitron NTRs for it, and want an ARB. IF the SC arrives then theres that to do too, which will be a laugh.

Thats if it ever gets through customs Tom!!

Bought it some Nitron NTRs. The bodys look spot on but the springs are beyond rusty! They differ from the Gaz I had mostly in the gas assist they seem to have. The Bottom adjuster knob is satisfyingly chunky feeling too, and about 0.5kg lighter maybe.

I wouldn't worry about the rust, golden rule of thumb (which I expect you know) is that 10mm of rust is made from 1mm of metal.

Its so when I steal Nevs VX I cant launder it by giving it the identity and plates from a write off. I need the vic marker gone before i can apply for a logbook. :-)
