I haven't been on here for a while so hello everybody! Can you still get rear Bridgestone RE040s? Does anyone know who might have some? I need some for my s2 Elise(!) I know, I know, I am a traitor etc. I have read the VX version of the tyre is a bit different to the Elise version, but it can't be that much different, and I can't get hold of any of the Elise ones. Ta for the help guys. Dean

Alternatives for rear is the RE050 more summer based tyre that several people on here including myself run with no problems.

Do people just use the re040 on the front and run the re070 on the back then?

Guys thank you for your swift assistance. Much appreciated. I have ordered a pair from Camskill (thanks Wolfstone). Derby-vx220 - I would still be interested in those part worns though. If you wanna get rid, pm me. I am not far from you and can easy slide down and pick 'em up. Dean.

I still use 40s all round and have yet to find myself upside down in a ditch. Love everything about my car and don't see a need to change.

I was more wondering if i'd missed another option for a standard front wheel tyre option but obviously not! I can't decide if to get some new bridgestones or some td's so i can go a little wider on the front and have more tyre choice.

Only you can decide that. Depends if you need more track biased tyres. re040/70 are more than capable on the road imo.

Swap rears to the fronts and bosh, wider tyres.
