Atleast half a days labour, if not a full day..... they are pretty much the simplest thing in the world to fit but getting to them is one utter doodah of a job.

I fitted these a couple of months back after my selector cable snapped. I think they are very good quality and easy to fit. The only problem really is the amount of items you have to removed to even get to replace them. It took me 5 hours to replace both cables from start to finish. I wasn't working fast at all and I was being careful as I went as I was a little unsure.

Talking with Yvo at the moment to see what he can do for us, it would help to get an idea of numbers

Quite an expensive job then unless you do them yourself

Mine were perfect before putting car away for winter , lack of use has killed them. I expect there will be a lot more owners that have the VX in storage that will have the same problem , its just a matter of time that the poor original cables will fail

Indeedy, Mine was an early car, used daily in all weathers and kept outside and they failed (water got in and froze) in Jan 2009.

I'll take a set if some form of discount can be negotiated, worthwhile to keep at the back of the garage for when needed thumbsup

I wonder if these will available on the market soon, taken from the Carrera GT spec sheet The use of ball bearing-mounted Flexball shift cables is yet another worldwide automotive first. Unlike conventional shaft cables with a wound steel core, a Flexball cable is made of a flat stainless-steel band resting in ball bearings at each end. This allows the transmission of movement even over longer distances with no frictional losses worth mentioning, providing a very high efficiency rating of 96 per cent.

well cablecraft/tuthill were selling them for £194.40 so there maybe not be much margin to discount with Yvo selling them at £180 , we will see next week

That was plus VAT as well, I think. Yvo's price for them is very good, especially as you get some assurance that they fit.

I might have to do the same! It's really not that hard. If the group buy does go ahead I don't mind helping anyone fit a set local to me.
