You may find it difficult to get a 2006 red VX with low miles. Not many about. Good luck with your hunting. What budget do you have?

Production ended in 2005, so any '2006' car has sat in a field for a year at least. All VXR's are 2004. The limit you set is irrational.

Some VXR's, whilst built in 2004 were registered in 2005 :P OP, what's your definition of low mileage?

Up to £20,000 or do I need more? I'm new to VX220s. Had an Exige before. Was new but fell apart :( Have been told the build quality is better on the VX220. Prefer a Turbo to a VXR as I've done the speed thing with other brands and have now calmed down :) As for the age, I was just going by Wikipedia.

Errrmmmmm, unlikely. Better than an S1 Exige, possibly. But the S2 Elise or Exige has the VX well and truly beaten on build quality.

If I was in the market for a Lotus chassised car, recent, low mileage and with that budget, I'd be looking at a Europa.

Agreed, if you can find one of the 6 or so SE models (in the UK) then even better. As long as you're happy to keep it original and not mod it, the Europa is a good shout.

Oh Jeez really? The inner wheel arch flew off mine when it was a few months old. Christopher Neil picked it up on a trailer. When they dropped it back off the gearstick came of in my hand before they had even left. I told them to put it back on the trailer and sell it. The gaps in the rear lid were laughable. However they seem to have improved since then (Mine was a 2004). I love the look of the VX220. I like the fact it is a Vauxhall rather than a Lotus. Will give it a go. If you see a 2006 red one for sale please let me know. She will be driven tamely :)

There ain't much difference between a standard turbo and a VXR. Published difference is 4.7 to 60 for the turbo and 4.2 for the VXR. Its only an extra 20bhp as a result of a remap and miltek exhaust.

It might have a Vauxhall badge on the front, and Vauxhall engine in the back and a smattering of other vauxhall bits here and there but it was built on the same production lines by the same people as the Elise/Exige. Build quality wise its not going to be an improvement.

And a Vxr isn't even 4.2 to 60 when I'm behind the wheel, power to weight ratio goes well out the window when I get in mine lol....

There is a GULF between 4.2 and 4.7 seconds. I never understood that big difference for 20bhp. Must be the tyres.
