Not quite in the same league as what you are looking at (love the C63!) but I also have around £30k to spend on a "new" car... My priorities are, 4 doors, comfortable, new or at least this years model, reasonably quick with not bad handling. I've test driven a few motors over the last few months and have decided on a C class Merc. The C220 CDI AMG Sport Plus to be precise... I absolutely loved it  when I demo'd it, it's the only car I've tested where I didn't want to give the keys back! 

 

Best compromise between power and economy with a firm but comfortable ride. The 7 speed box has a smooth gear change and really picks up in Sport mode. For a big feeling car it also handled well when throwing it around and overtaking on country roads. Hope to put my order in next week.... can't wait!
