What kind of driving do you do?I've had my aygo special edition blue.....(which means you get useless Bluetooth and air con) since New in 2007, 20 quid a year road tax, always get nearly 60 to the gallon and yes it's petrol, 160 to insure for a whole year and it's never....touch wood...ever cost me more than consumables and now at 55k and worth half of what I paid for it I'd say it's been a really cheap 2nd car to own and serves me well when the weather doesn't suit the vx!!! An ideal cheap accompaniment to the vx..
I'm mainly motorway currently, is cruising at 75ish maybe more mich worse on fuel?

Has anyone any experience of the Audi A2 1.4 TDi?
Looking for something to replace my Fiesta and these cropped up as low tax band.
I've had a couple of A2 over the years. The 1.4TDi 2004/05 comes in two states of tune 75PS and 90PS.
The 90PS has rear brake discs as an obvious visual marker.
They're excellent cars if you need a small, almost SUV style car, that can comfortably seat 4 adults.
The rear seats can be removed to offer a large load space.
The boot is as large as a Focus' boot.
I have averaged 62mpg in mine over 45k. Best ever single fuel tank economy was 78mpg. Few cars can match that at A2 value..
Negatives:
The 5th gear ratio is quite short. 60mph is 2000rpm. So travelling at 70mph is fine, 80mph gets rather noisy. Some owners have changed the gear ratio to resolve this.
The cars are expensive verses other marques. They're becoming quite sort after.
OpenSky (sunroof) is expensive to repair - but some dealers are still offering warranty repairs if FSH.
Base cars have 15" wheels which are OK. 16 and 17" and the ride becomes too crashy for most people.
Lots of good infor here: http://a2oc.net/

My 107 was not that pleasant at 65mph+. Tolerable but Aygo/107/C1's not a motorway car really. Odd as the 5th gear was longer than the girlfriends polo 1.2. The 107 over the Severn in high wind was like balancing jelly on a plate whilst on a trampoline. Happy in lane 1 then whoosh half way into lane 2.

I would avoid polo/vag based cars because of the annoyingly slightly too revvy fifth gear unless the box was proven to have a better cruising gear. Otherwise a polo is a nice place to be.
