Hey, I'm looking to potentially upgrade to a stage 2 turbo and I want to make some aerodynamic (more for the aesthetics) modifications. However I've never ventured into modding a car so have no local knowledge of garages who do these kind of things. I live in the Somerset/south west area, anyone know/use a garage to do these kind of modifications? I'd like some price ranges as well, particularly the the turbo tuning, I've heard the £2-2.5k range fitted, is that accurate? The only info I can get off the net is thorney Motorsport, has anyone used these, any good? Thanks in advance :)

Thorney - The big question is what do you want to achieve? There is so much out there, but much has to be planned and fitted with other things in mind.

Alot of items on here such as wings are subjective rather than 100% scientific. How's the cars braking and suspension? That'd be my first port of call...then look at CC'ing possibly.

As above, new springs and damper assemblies plus a geo could easily run to £1,500+ Remap £400? LEH turbo £450 + fitting Exhaust & decat say £1500, sport cat another £500? Retrim the interior £££ Hard top + painting say £700 Take a look at the Courtenay website, there are lots of prices on there, but as above, you really need to have an idea of what you are hoping to achieve.

With aerodynamics, I love the spoiler and diffuser on thorney Motorsport, got a thing for spoilers. That is the extent I want to go for that just wondered if there were other options for those other than thorney ones. Yea thorney shows info for stage two but I couldn't find a price, was I missing the obvious? I've recently replaced the shocks and brakes due to wear and tear but I'll probably eventually upgrade the brakes for safeties sake if nothing else - more power - more stopping power - yes the car scares me. Thanks again :)

Both Thorney's site and Courtneys give you a good idea of Stages and what is typically involved for that definition, including cost. I had my stage 2 done at Thorney's 5 years ago and had no complaints, it was good. I think though times have changed and there are even better options of tuners now. What did you replace the shocks with? With brakes just try uprated pads and fresh fluid, you really don't need to do much else with them.

I think I might be inclined to have a chat with Nev on here. He may not be everybodys cup of tea on here, but once you've met him you'll realise in real life he's a remarkably helpful bloke who's happy to give advice as freely as a free thing. He's also had some very very cheap exhausts made in Bristol, and knows a lot about aero bits available and fitting in the SW

I've chatted with Nev and he was very helpful in guiding and advising me as I was going through the decision process to what level of stage 4 would be right for me. thumbsup

I've got gaz shocks now, they've made a significant difference in the cars handling but then I was driving on a broken shock beforehand so haven't really got a comparison. I've replaced the discs and pads but I'll admit it was a relatively cheap option I went for but more than enough stopping power for my current power setup. It would be after stage 2 I would upgrade those. When I decide to take the dive I'll pester nev then. Thanks :)
