I think Kev S had pretty good results with the 2.4 manifold and I believe he still has it on the car - not sure where he's based but may be worth having a word with him..

As Techi said the 2.4 mani dose not lose torque or power if mapped correctly. The 2.2 will not make the power levels of the Honda but it will make up for this with better torque mine made 167 ft/Ib. I think the TMS rollers were generous with its torque values though Techi could confirm this as he had it on the CS rollers as well? I think 200bhp would be the limit for the 2.4 manifold and a fabricated inlet would be needed to get closer to the ITB power levels.

I have the 2.4 inlet manifold but also my car is Courtenay Sport stage 5. I'm currently at 181hp with a standard exhaust manifold, this was on Courtenays latest RR. Before the 2.4 manifold it was 177hp but this was on their old RR. I've not noticed a difference with the 2.4 manifold if I'm honest but I am happy with the hp out of this engine which is now 10 years old with 90k miles. I will expect a bit more hp when I have a Tullett manifold and maybe a little more if I go for ITB. I believe oakmere had around 190hp so that should be achievable with same mods as me, further than that you're in Vocky territory!

Interesting read, guys thanks for the advice. At the moment I don't want to spend loads on supercharger/ turbo, itb's sound great but are also expensive so think I may have to opt for plan B. probably the most difficult mod to get my car feeling faster but possibly the cheapest........... Go on a diet :-(....... off to prepare my salad now.

That and a slightly ported head are what I had on my car at the time - I had the original TMS 4-1 manifold which is pretty much the same as the later Tullet design.

No worries getting to 180. This graph was before cams (worth around 10 hp)

Kind regards, Paul

There's no way your two phone chargers will add that much power to your SC, even if they're 2.1amp iCnut chargers. 2.1amps x 12volts = 25.2 watts = 0.0335255522 horsepower. Fact
