I have to agree with Pullen, a standard Audi R8 will and does get more looks than a standard VX220 on the street in everyday life. However I must caveat that with a standard R8 vs a modded VX like mine or Darcini's, the VX will get more looks. Bring a GT race version of the R8 into the mix and the balance is back in the Audi's favour. Let's face it; however passionate we are about our little cars, a genuine supercar will always turn heads.

Followed an R8 last wednesday and as I got behind it the driver decided to floor it & show the 'little plastic car' what a real supercar could do! I was amazed at the amount of body roll it had in the corners... well the 3 or 4 that I was behind it for anyway

Sadly for some amongst us, it is not us who decides what is and isn't a supercar, it is PistonHeads, Clarckson, Autocar, Audi and the likes.

Love it or hate it, the R8 is only a rebodied Lambo and all Lambos are supercars therefore the R8 is a supercar by relationship.

You can't compare the VX220 Top Gear time to more recent ones because the VX was done by Black Stig who is a lot slower than the more recent Stigs.

I highly doubt a Corsa can go faster when you look at the other cars doing similar times...

Anyway, all I know is I drove a V8 R8 round Bruntingthorpe hitting over 150mph and I'm 100% positive that I had more fun driving home in my old DC2 Integra than whoever got to take that car home. The thing sounded like a well sound proofed diesel (could barely hear it) and 150 felt like 80

Shocked me how much a 2nd hand R8 is on PH, starting lowest at £37,989 ( check it, then you will understand why its this price lol ) Really come down in price....

News flash the times are what they are the vx220 isnt made anymore because of poor sales, so who cares what stig drives what cars lolol how stupid, must be becuase your cars green lololol

Actually it was on my way back from Liam's on the A515

Think the 160bhp/ton more than the R8 made it a fairly easy 'pass' anyway!

This guy is hilarious. For the record, I think you'll find the VX had the standard 7 year production run and green is one of the best colours.
