corsa puled into middle of the road to dodge a tree and our car hit it up the arse pushing it into a wall.

He may have been 'showing off' but tbh who hasn't overtaken a car before?

Sometimes the closing speed on overtakes in our cars seem ridiculous, if the car in front pulls into your line of approach what are you going to do?

Some overly harsh comments in here IMO

I wonder what the insurance outcome is. As ignoring any speed comments, they pulled into him as he was overtaking, so their fault?

I'm inclined to agree really. I'm sure many of us have overtaken at that speed and been fine, in fairness it sounds like the corsa driver swerved across the road without looking in their rear view mirror which puts them as much at fault IMO.

Back story from one person is why the harsh comment it paints a picture of a crazy driver, where as he could of said driving along while completing an overtake on single lane NSL a Corsa pulled out and we had no where to go...

Yeah thought I'd meet a fellow vx owner, no way he'd try n show off seeing as I own a turbo which is about 100 bhp more than his, who new. Maybe should have guessed when I got in and the car looked like a right shitter? Just lucky the other guys were ok, and not more than fractures.

Listen guys, I'm a paramedic, I drive at speed professionally, there's no way it was a safe overtake, I also race motorbikes so I'm not some prude who drives like a granny, at the end of the day he's hit her up the rear, she didn't swerve she checked her mirror but he was so fast there's no way she knew he'd do that, if you guys think he's overtaken safely then your driving skills are as good as Darryls which as the pictures show leave a lot to be desired. Claims gone through as his fault, 90 mph on a 50 mph road around a car is not appropriate. Young couple in the corsa engaged to be married could have been killed. Because some idiot in a vx220 tried showing off. Seen it too many times, you wanna race get on track and play with your own life not other people's.

Daryl is a nice bloke, everyone makes mistakes no need being a bell end about it everyone has made a dodgy overtake every once and a while unfortunately he got caught out If you where that bothered about it why didn't you tell him to slow down

Ok jules spuk87 and Jason..... Your driving at 50 along a single carriageway road, minding your own business, chatting to your girlfriend. you see a tree in the road ahead so you check your mirror and see a car in the distance so pull into the middle to avoid said tree, BANG your hit from the rear and pushed into a wall, SMASH your vx220 smashes into bits, you spin round and slide into a ditch, you and your girlfriend are now crawling out of a totalled car that used to be your pride and joy, her foot is smashed to bits your nose is broken and your back is potentially fractured meaning months of pain ahead, the guy who's hit you comes over and says "you shouldn't have pulled into the middle of the road" ............ Yeah I can see you all agreeing with him and telling the police and insurance it was your fault. I'm not being funny guys but seriously think about it? If that happened to you? Your saying its not his fault?

I told him to slow down but you obviously haven't been in an accident was over in seconds. Fine your right everyone makes mistakes. But no apology at all and with a guy you hardly know in the car? Showing off? Shouldn't have happened. And I'm telling it how it is. Imagine how you'd feel in my shoes if you didn't know the guy

High horse? you know if it were you you'd be pissed off. Obviously haven't made my point as people still think it's not his fault. If Darryl was such a good bloke you'd have told him about this thread and he'd be on here saying sorry for driving like an idiot.
