Hi all, We just purchased our first VX220 turbo, managed to get a May 05 plate with only 5000 miles and 1 owner in Coral Blue  totally in love from the moment we set eyes on it. We have been looking for one for about 3 years (and missed out on the recently sold VXR no.6 due to being on holiday)!! Just got ours home and tucked up in the garage and now waiting for a bit of sunshine to go out and play. We want to take it to someone that can teach us how to drive it properly - not necessarily track day heavy - but how to handle it, any suggestions?? The garage suggested Oulton Park?? Also we want to get involved in any 'meets' with other VX220 owners, can we find the info on this site? Thanks!!

Welcome to the forum. What plans apart from tracking it do you have? Also have a look at the meets page...I am sure they will interest you.

There is meet in the Peak District this coming weekend. Check out the meets section. I think I saw your car advertised too as I have also been buying myself a VX turbo this month. Welcome

Thanks all! Will check out these links :) Yeah were are quite picky, wanted low miles and 'unmolested' - but also had to wait for the funds!! We are in the Midlands - Telford to be precise, will check out the meets. The car is pretty mint, ex demonstrator and 1 owner who was an older bloke who finally sold it after struggling to get in and out of it - serviced every year even though the last few years its only done a couple of hundred miles. Plans at the moment are just to send it for an MOT and service (Oil and Air) its under warranty for 3 months so if the MOT picks up hopefully the garage can sort it out. Apart from that there is just a few tidy up bits we want to do, a new wrap around the front window as the current silver one has suffered and it discoloured (small black dots...we found some reports on it on here) We have some bugs in the front and rear headlight! So hoping to find a way of sucking those little blighters out - Any suggestions!? No major plans to modify the car, maybe a new exhaust - but nothing else as yet, will wait and see what we find out :)

Telford eh, welcome from sunny Albrighton. I did my first track day at Oulton Park, about 3 years a go. It is a great circuit for learning the ropes and you usually get instruction for free.

Hi there, welcome to the forum and glad you were on holiday as I was the one who snapped up the vxr whilst you were away. Still waiting for some decent weather too arrive to give it a proper outing. Might look into the carlimits day out myself to really get to know the car.
