Really strange, not long ago there was a massive thread with people praising the filter

I imagine its probably one of the better ones of the aftermarket world, but you'd not catch me praising anything other than a paper filter  but then who wants a boring paper filter when you can spunk a load of cash on some wikkid one and say its the bestest (bit like folks and remaps, and suspension and blah blah blah)

Indeed, its even worse, cotton gauze.

Thought it was a dry foam filter?

The reason MMG use Apexi is the fact that its a dry type filter, so it will not kill the MAF sensor. K&N & Pipercross everything else is oil impregnated which kills the MAF.

Apexi filters have the best filtration over any non oil impregnated filter (From the research I have done, as long as you get a genuine one)

The air box is a huge restriction, so get rid of it, simples.

Apexi filter is just one tiny part of a full MMG intake kit, need the whole kit to see the best gains. I was supposed to post up pics of a whole MMG intake kit, but alas I never got round to it and MMG did not have time with moving location of the work shop.....

Yeh You can do the test your self with a hoover. Genuine Apexi do filter very well!

You can get a lot of different size apexi filters tho, bigger the better for me :)

The Apexi has great filtration, whats the issue? You can fit a different type, but they kill the mafs, or you can leave the airbox as a big restriction..... Seems pretty clear to me...... :)

So how has others set theirs up? I just used the origional pipe and put the filter on the end. Its away from the ear, should it be extending it to be closer?
