As per the title. Just looking for something to use exclusively in the car. Not too bothered by a few scratches and dents, etcetera as long as the price adequately reflects this, the age and it is fully functional. Thanks :)

you might want to consider a nano with its solid state drive instead of a classic. or if you need the storage in a classic, at least avoid the high capacity 5th gen ones, as they used 2 spinning discs and tend to fail after a while.

Thanks. The Nano I've relieved my wife of doesn't quite have the capacity. Do you know if any of them support video? The Alpine in the VX does & plays from my Touch. The 6th gen v2 has better hardware, doesn't it?

I use a 4th gen Nano in the VX, it shoves nicely in between the dash and the black plastic sill cover that forms the cubbyholes. Can't comment on the video, I onlu use it for music! I upgraded from a 5th gen classic to a 6th gen classic recently, and can't really see much difference - the only reason I changed was that I filled the old one and needed the extra space.

I have one of those pieces of shite. No idea what Gen it is. Think its 80gb. Piece of shite crashes after about 300-400 songs. I've replaced it with a USB pen drive. fcuking hateful apple w4nk. I paid far too much for it as well.

I believe it is. Demand is outstripping supply. Which worries me a little. Is Samsung becoming the new apple?

The Alpine had an iPod module, so it's the 30 pin connector hanging out by the light switches.

I've had near every ipod going (as they normally get replaced under warranty from failing) The most reliable one ive had is the square nano! but the big down fall is you can only hold about 1k songs and a couple of vids. just have to carefully choose what you have on there lol

No-one else seems to have these issues. I'm starting to think we have found the only person in the world, not able to work and ipod. :P I put it down to user error. thumbsup
