These work for me as well... Though might have gone for F1s if they were in stock at the time.

if youre a gambling man and youve got access to one, you can name your stake

If one 235 fits, they'll all fit. It purely boils down to the machine and the fitter from there. That machine was purchased so we can fit runflats, which we do with ease. there is noway a 888 has a stiffer sidewall than a RFT

just saying from personal experience and many others on here , there comes a point where even 160psi and the bead still won't pop on that you have to say , we give up. That was a 235/40/17 on to a Team Dynamics PR1.2 7.5J wheel , the same tyre fitted no problem on a 9J same.

My chosen tyre fitters blanch whenever I roll up with a set of TD 1.2's and a set of R888's (in 225/45). Credit to them, they always get them seated in the end, as long as we studiously ignore the max psi rating on the sidewall and use copious amounts of soap and some spray stuff they fire inside. Fcuking pain in the arse combination of wheel and tyre. thumbsdown

Oh I just give up. Fek wheels and there numbers, offsets that, J this, triple reinforced that, profile this, ET that.. WTF is ET anyway!... I have read nearly every wheel topic since the beginning of time on .org and I still don't get it! What is the widest 17" front wheels I can get on the VX without issues with normal tyres that are not silly low profile ones? :( I'm so lost

Ahhh to be fair I was thinking more physically fitting as opposed to seating of the bead.

That really comes down to abit of perserverance and little things that a lot of fitters tend to forget. I go spare if a tech comes to me asking for help seating a bead and when I get there they havent removed the valve core! lots of fitting paste (or even penertrating oil) on the rim 'humps' as well as the tyre bead. and thirdly plumb it straight to the compressor, a pcl type gauge slows the air going into the tyre alot. Ofcourse you then dont know what pressure you are putting in there but you get used to timing it after youve done it lord knows how many times and ive never had a tyre explode on me to this day

its a guess but if i was going to try id be considering a 7X17 with a 205/45X17 tyre initially but then ive got feck all experience with changing the sizes on a vx

Just a quick update went to the car this morning and the "necks" of both valves have perished at the same time! So basically I got to my car and had two flat front tyres and when I put air in, it comes out at almost the same rate from the holes!

I have opted for the Eagle F1s (fitted £100 arriving Tuesday), the next best quote as I had to go local was £107 fitted, one could be with me in two days and the other would be there sometime before the end of the month! A fat lot of good that quote was.
