Talking of ingress covers, I think (at a guess) that one is best leaving the water ingress cover on the lid, but taking the plastic cam case strip off the top of the coil pack. This allows the coil pack to get a bit of respite from mental trapped heat build up and might prolong it's life considerably. I take this approach with Nipper and I'm only on my second coil pack which is pretty good considering the heat he makes. It's just a "tip" for any other turboists out there!

Funny you should say that, but I took my SS ingress cover off to tap some threads into it and think I am going to leave it off... as I rarely use in the wet, and imagine heat escapes better without it thumbsup

To answer your question, the bender is:

https://www.machinem...et-metal-folder

Only handles 22swg mild according to the specs but that is at 24" wide... those brackets I folded are 1.2mm Stainless and handled it just fine.

Had a first drive for a while on Saturday morning, it was meant only to be a quick 15-30 minutes spin to test drive after changing the various pipes etc., and to run her after not being driven for a few months... anyway, I pulled out of my drive behind an Elise R, assumed he was out for a blast, followed, and yes he was :) Had a spirited drive to the point where I thought "I have no idea where on earth I am, and I need to be somewhere!"  so followed the signs to somewhere familiar and started heading home.  Car was faultless as always, and changing the Cam -> Crank breather seems to have stopped the oil film.

Car is booked in at Neil Garner on Monday to change the inboard toe link ball joints and set the rear toe (obviously).  I have also finally booked a track day today!... at Castle Combe on 21st August... my 2nd ever track day!

Small update:

Neil Garner Motorsport replaced rear toe link inboard ball joints (I supplied OEM parts) and performed a full Geo.  Then I did a few small jobs.

First thing they did was, check the existing toe... it was found to be 'in' on the n/s 'out' on the o/s so effectively crabbing slightly... camber was also off due to the toe being incorrect.  Slightly disappointed if Im honest, as the car was Geo'd about 1500 miles ago by a trusted specialist... maybe there is a reasonable explaination?

Hadn't originally intended to get a full Geo but decided to get everything checked while I was there.  Once they had swapped the old ball joints out, and set the toe, the camber was checked and was correct.  They then checked the front toe which wasn't off, but they adjusted it slightly and re-centred the wheel.  Ride hight was already fine.  Early to judge, as the roads haven't been great, but it is definately feeling 'nicer' than before, and of course my weapy boot is now sorted.

Then when I got home, I did a few things I have been meaning to do for a while:

Tightened the steering UJ's, which were already fine.  Then wiggled the wheel and looked at the road wheels and they are definately connected ;)

Then I checked the clutch switch alignment as I often get a little surge when changing gear... the alignment and operation of the switch seems to be what one would expect so maybe it's knackered or something else... not high on my list of priorities though.
