I seen it on Autotrader last week. Noticed/recognised the reg, but after a quick search I couldn't dig anything up on it. Where are you based?

I can swing by that garage after work, run an eye over it and maybe take some more pictures for you if you like?

Whats the strange dent on top of the drivers seat head rest..?

Great spec though, with the optional 'Random' pack fitted from new:

Cigar lighter

Air blend heater

Power steering

Visible vehicle identification number

Hazard lights and side indicators

And why do car dealer always list the useless tat that just about every car in the last 20 years has had...

i havent really got a budget Turbo, just looking for the right car at the right price, if well sorted then pay a little extra for the year but not too stupid, in no rush to buy either so can wait, its a car to keep im looking for, not one for summer.

John, I've just been to see it, the back story etc clicked once I got talking to the salesman, the car belonged to respected forum member CoralFlash who passed away a short while ago. The car is a goodie on the whole, maybe some of the Welsh members can verify the car's condition/credentials. Just heading home, will post a better write-up shortly thumbsup

So, outwardly, the car is in good condition with the odd scuff and paint bubble and touch ups, except half way along the rear at the boot where the bubbling is a bit more obvious, though more like a fine rash compared to bubbles. There is also a chip out of the bottom of the drivers door.

The driver seat is in great condition and slides well along its rails. All dash plates are missing for some reason and the Bowden cable for the Hot/Cold mix is missing completely, as is the heater box to cabin ducting and wiper motor cover.

I couldn't get the car started at first, but this may have been an alarm/immobiliser misuse on my part, I locked it again, opened it and it started with the other key straight away. It just idled smoothly and quietly with no hunting up or down trying to find an idle point

The car also comes with a black hard top.

The front Bridgies are MY10 and the driverside one is showing signs of cracking, the rears are Continental Contisport 3s

The spring collars on all 4 shocks are in good condition and the car is wearing Mintex 1144 pads with a decent chunk left. Braided hoses are fitted also

The only thing I was not sure about is the rear clam, not owning a turbo, I'm not sure if the construction of the clams vary, but my clam isn't joined this way :

As stated in my previous post, I eventually deduced that the car belonged to CoralFlash, so a search on that user name should bring up more of the car's history.

Please add any more info you may know about the car, or ask if there is anything I may have omitted thumbsup

ETA, Central Locking works fine and the driver side front spitter is missing, this hasn't been ripped out the clam

The white bit just seems like a flaked off bit of paint at the edge of the panel after a stone chip or something. My car has a few bits like that. The guy really didn't have a clue about the car, but it ran smooth and quiet, std exhaust and airbox. Maybe other members know better? It has a rear towing eye fitted too

Cheers for the info and taking the time out to visit the dealer, looks like certain things may have been work in progress before he passed away. a little work needed to get it upto scratch so may be worth a drive to see if he will take an offer on it.

Cheers again

John

No worries! Yeah, that's what it seems like, the car seems like it will be a great one with a few simple parts fitted. It still feels fresh inside too. It's on a 55 plate originally. Have you done a HPI check on the car? Good luck, whatever you choose to do! Chris

The car was discussed recently on here.

http://www.vx220.org...te-anyone-here/

As has been mentioned, it belonged to Coralflash who sadly passed away recently. I never met him personally but the following links show that he was a truly loved gentleman who will be sorely missed by a lot of VXers.

A really sad story. Hope there's a happy ending for his beloved car in all this.

I do know Bob had the rear clam repaired by Christopher Neil Lotus a year or so back after he caught the gate post reversing it in the drive , he also was a very keen tack driver and often went several times a year but I can vouch that what ever his Vx needed it had regardless of cost :-) , cheers Nelly .

Cheers Nelly, sounds about right! I think I can remember reading about the gate post incident too. Really good original car thumbsup Just remembered, it has a CG Lock fitted on the driver's belt too :)
