Can anyone please help out VX220BOB? I'm a Mac-man so this is a bit beyond me. Ta. Ben. Hi Ben. Sorry to be a pain in arse, I have tried several times to down load the vx220 wsm and I am at the point of throwing the laptop through the window. I have windows 7 and it has downloaded after several attempts but wont allow me to open the files etc etc. I am not a computer whiz but can get by. Or do have an idiots guide to down load and save and open using windows 7 as I am beat on this one.

For anyone having issues getting this working, you will first need to download and install a product called VMware player

Now you can uncompressed the workshop manual you downloaded from this post using WinZip or a similar application. you should see some files with extensions like .vmx and .vmdk , these make up a Windows XP Virtual machine. Take a note of the location of these files.

Now start the VMware player, select the option to "Open a Virtual Machine", navigate to the directory where you uncompressed the workshop manual and select the "Vauxhall_2010_WMS.vmx" file

You will now see this displayed in the left Payne of the VMware Player, highlight it, right click and select "Play Virtual Machine" option.

You should then see the VM start. Once started take a look at the Quick Start Guide.txt file on the desk top.

I downloaded it today (2nd February 2014) and it worked fine. When I ran the software in the VM a dialog box came up with a user id and an empty password. As I have no password I just pressed enter and I was in.

 

VMware runs on Macs too so I'm surprised that you can't use this.

I've gotten the TIS Windows XP virtual machine running on Mac OSX. It took a few hours to get sorted but it seems reliable. 

 

I've uploaded it to share with everyone, but I'd like to start a fresh thread for it or get it added to the first post in this one.

 

How many posts do I need to start a new thread in this section?

Sounds like a browser issue...hard to say without more detail.

 

You could try moving the file downloaded from Dropbox from the Windows 10 computer to the Windows XP laptop with a USB drive. That way you wouldn't have to access Dropbox on the XP laptop.

Not being a kill joy but technically it illegal to distribute so you may want to upload it to something like Mega and then just provide link then you can deny all knowledge

 

Your are distributing a version Windows XP and the TIS software itself.   I don't really care if someone commits piracy but anonymity might be an idea
