I know ... Quite a few of my ol race buddies raced them and say they are so fun to drive. Problem is they are also very, very easy to drive. I'd be afraid that after buying after two laps I'd just end up falling asleep!! Has to be RWD, like I said, I am fully aware that this is a fun only activity. Saloon/GT sponsorship are nearly non existent these days for stuff like GT Cup or Britcar ... Let alone getting a budget for something like British GT! Until then I shall remain a slave to the corporate ladder to keep boosting my budget like that =)ok, that makes sence not really sure what to suggest, just about all road car based stuff usually ends upsetting expensive unless you can pick a series that's very tied down on specs... old race cars are cheap, things like old clio cup cars etc....

at donington park on saturday this was in the garage at the side of us.
I got talking to the couple who owned the radical, they were really nice he has something to do with a software company.
He told me that the engine needs to be serviced by radical every 5 running hours and needs a complete strip down every 50 hours
it was awesome on the track though.

Stupid question ... but how on earth to they do that in endurance races?
There must be different engines available no?
I am thinking a 150 BHP SR3 would still be plenty fun and fast if it promotes longer life / longer intervals between service?
Anyone volunteering to stick a Z22 into a SR3? LOL! Whilst you are at it ... put some Griffin badges on it for us ;-)

Impreza engine has been done in an SR3

The problem with that seems to be the gears are way too loooooooong.
Said that the machine looks very stable, solid hands throughout!
If you local at most SR3 onboards they seem quite a handful and twitchy.
Wonder how the two would compare?

It's probably just the fact he is not on the limit and most radical vids you have seen will be racers eeking every last bit of performance out.

Cat amongst the pigeons then...
My mate who is 'quite' good with photoshop was kind enough to sway my mind the other way and show me how an N/A VX220 in racetrim could look like.
Stuff me sideways ... I am in love, that does look very, very hot

Truedat.
But why do we all love the 917 Porsche, the GT40, 911 GT1, Merc C11, etc etc.
I am on your page fully - care much more how the car will be safe n fast. But one cannot help but be enthused by pics like that, no?

why not a 7 type car?
Because in multi-class racing it is no fun to be in a 7-type car and be pushed to the side by even a Clio which suddenly looks like a Merc GL.

I think your best bet is something in trackday trophy. I think a VX220 NA with minimal mods would be ideal, like the one in the projects forum
If you are interested in seeing some Radical racing we are at Silverstone this weekend with the European Masters which has SR3s and SR8s

Cool! I have family commitments, but will reach out after viewing the calendar!
Tnx for the heads up!!
Yeah Mark's VX220 N/A in Trackday Trophy is epic. I was just wondering if an initial higher capex investment could yield in significantly faster motoring...
