Was fine on Friday, drove it back from work.  Wen tout today and all the dash lights were on, still started fine, but no revs or speedo.

Have tried:

Pulling fuse 8

Disconnecting Battery

Swapping fuse 22 (I think) which is something to do with stack for another 10amp on the fuse bank

Quickly checked rear ABS wire, looked ok.

None of this worked.  Went for a 25 min drive, car totally fine.  (Speed cameras felt a little like playing Russian Roulette)

Have left it for the night now, puled fuse 8 & 22 and put on charge.  See if it's still there in the morning.

Ideas?

No one? Has anyone on here had to change a stack before? Would it need coding? Anyway to alter the mileage to the correct amount?

have you jump started it at all recently?  has a habit of killing stacks that one.

No, it doesn't need coding and the only way to alter the mileage is to move the EEPROM that contains the mileage from the old one, to the new one.

Cheers Matt, well at least it's possible. Can't understand why it would just die while sitting on the drive though.

Seems to me that the speedo stack has seen better days.

Isn't it possible to code/fix the milage with an OPCOM? This works with my Astra.

It could be totally unrelated, but I came across this thread whilst searching for my rev counter issues the other day.

Following on from my rev counter stopping working, I found out that the relays in the boot were wet; which pretty much stopped everything working = and lit up the dash like a Christmas tree

Might be worth a check?

I had a similar problem, when driving at night with the lights on, and I had stopped for fuel and turned off the ignition, the speedo and rev counter stopped working and the rev limiter light came on permanently. The car started and ran perfect, I pulled all the fuses till the rev limiter light went out, pushed it back in again and all was back to normal.  It has done it a few times but never fails to reset.

Will check relays tonight, also will pull all fuses but I disconnected the battery all weekend and the problem remains.

Not sure if this will work, here's a link to a video of the dash on startup. http://i243.photobuc...zpseb33c3c5.mp4

That doesn't look great :(

Have you tried re-setting the stack yet?

Stack reset didn't do anything, relays all look secure.

Presume that leaves the stack or the loom...

I'd take the relays out, clean re-fit tbh

How long since you had your binnacle removed re-fitted? could be something crimped in there? ....That was my first dread when mine went awry :(

Not long tbh. Was all retrimmed by Dave but refitted by me and my gorilla fingers. Will take it all back out and see if anything is caught, will look forward to that job. -_- Will remove relays, and buy some contact cleaner. Cheers for the ideas guys.
