Lads (and ladies), this would make me consider selling my VX. The roof leaks on both sides (which I accept a little as I've always had convertibles) however the passenger side is like a torrent. they both leak from the front top corner of the window area and it the car leans forward it is much much worse.

 

I took it tho a garage and they couldn't do anything with it (or so they claimed).

 

It is practically unusable, and most unpleasant. 

 

Any suggestions?

You should only get a very odd drip in very heavy rain if any. NA or Turbo ?

It's an NA, but it is like a flood on the passenger side,  even the seats were wet this morning!

If the seal is ok it's just window adjustment, it may need adjusting upward or inward. If it's an NA then a lot fit the Turbo seal as they are better but they cost a fortune.

If I recall, that is a seriously warn, (sadly I will not be able to get a pic before six) and from memory the seal is coming away from the frame. It's really disheartening as the car is so wet.

 

However, one thing I have noticed it that mine does not have the triangular trough bit at all (the lowest central feature on the picture)?

Thanks mate, I've seen that guide but never successfully manged to implement it (despite doing most work on the car myself). I may have to pay someone to look at this as it's really serious.

didnt I read recently theres a cheaper lotus version? interested myself as I need to replace mine st some point even though I have the turbo ones alreadt that is a few years old now Dan

You have the old ones, get your wallet out or a wet suit. You may be able to repair and adjust what you have to make it better.

You can also adjust the height at the front and back by faffing around with these screws, although the adjustment doesn't really work in a logical way, so you really do need to try a few settings before you put the door back together...

The best place to get the front roof seal is Christopher Neils the part number is A116V0273F probably be about £100.

When people are talking about the old ones do they mean the seal around the windscreen?

 

If so, how do I change that?

Hmmm, 70 miles is a bit far unless you fancy a trip to Northampton.  (I'm 2 minutes off Junction 15 of the M1 and have plenty of room in the garage to look at it if its raining).  But there are a few members in the Derby area (TurboBob, VXT Tim) that might also be willing to take a look for you.  Drop them a PM.

Yeah 70 miles is too far, thanks for the tip regarding Derby members. I'd be on my a*se without this forum.

The seal is glued on, so to replace it involves peeling off the old one, removing any remaining glue and sticking the new one down. The new one will have adhesive on it already, you just peel off a tab to expose it before attaching it.

Thanks, is it always £100 or does anyone no if Lotus etc have a cheaper one?
