The Elise hardtop looks great. I'd still have to get it sprayed to match the car though.

No plans to do the rollbar for the vx at the moment. We can do the roof because half the tooling is done already but the rollbar is pretty complex so would have to be done at a later date . We have enough ongoing stuff to deal with at the mo!

much difference in the elise RBC that it would work with an elise HT , fitted to a VX ? or Exige HT ?

That's a good point actually I wonder if the elise one would just drop onto the vx if you change the rollbar cover as well?.... Might have to give that one a try.

I'm not sure if the elise RBC will fit to a VX rear clam, the rising buttresses have a wide flat upper surface , but the elise is a lot thinner and curved , so the long tail RBC is quite different.

Also the standard VX RBC with the high level stop light is quite heavy. First choice would be a very basic CF variant as light as possible , or an integrated single piece HT and RBC , ie no real roof seals, brackets etc.

I'm making a mould for a CF roll bar cover next week. Will be resin infusion but can get weave to match pre-preg.

Muncher has/had a mould.

He produced lighter roll bar covers without headrest cut outs etc.

That's the plan here, not much point in chasing up other moulds around the country as the weight of the moulds vs. cost to produce a new one makes it an expensive way to get one.

Yeah the rbc is pretty involved its similar to the roof really is two part with captive fixings underneath. It was a bugger to mold without splitting it too. I'll have to weigh it I think we got a kilo off the rbc and the roof about 3kg lighter at 6.5kg against our grp ones at 9kg vs 11kg for oem so almost a 50% reduction. Probably a reasonable wrought penalty for the reduced drag!

Fixings are different and position of the cutouts for the roof clips are in a different position
