Yep, after 250,000 miles of motorway driving, it'll have paid for itself.

I guess as there's 6 gears, the individual gears should be closer spaced than the F23. But all of the other answers depend on exactly which box you fit and what ratios are fitted to it. Run the ratios and final drive through a ratio calculator and it will tell you exactly what's what.

Lol!! Seriously though, is it better on track or road use, noticeably quicker acceleration, more comfortable long trips etc??
depends which M32 gearbox you fit and which 6th gear is fitted.
I altered mine so it has the same gearing in 6th as the F23 in 5th, so no different for cruising.
I could change the 6th gear to make it drop the rpm another 1k, like Joe has done in his.

With the extra gear do you not end up rowing the car along with the gearstick? I don't feel the need for an extra intermediary cog.

Surprised you didn't extend the gearing in 6th, though 1000 rpm is a lot. I often go for another gear in my N/A and don't have the torque of your 2.5L. Same reason I haven't installed the 4.17 box it would bug me on the motorway.
This.
It's the only reason I'd have a 6th gear.
Keep the 5 as they are, but have a much longer 6th gear for pure motorway sitting.

yeah but Vocky has a motor wanting for torque and needs the lower ratios to get along... same as DaveE with his turbo

I did extend the gearing in 6th, it was originally lower than the F23 fifth
As for torque, it's like a tractor and could probably pull tree stumps out

thats the part I enjoy the most, working the gears, which is why I have throttle bodies rather than a boring SC

I just happened to have a corsa vxr 6th gear laying about, which is why it's the same ratio as a F23 5th gear and not better.
If I had a taller 6th gear it would have had that

it's got enough torque for me, it is just a NA after all
