This is going to cost. Broken spark plugs - stuck

Soak overnight with penetrating fluid, try again tomorrow. If that doesn't work, start the car (I'm assuming the other three plugs work) and then try the plugs when the engine is hot.

nah two are out two now part of engine, been soaked over night.... :( Head is coming off.

So as the head are now off the gasket has a leak so at least it been caught and replaced

Is it na? Cracked head more likely than the gasket going might be worth a pressure test when you get it back together.

Join the club! Mine had to have a replacement head, but I did all the work myself so not such a big impact on the wallet.

Car can be fixed ..it is just money I understand it is frustrating but this is a car which is aging hence need more love and attention Good luck. Fab.

Oh thank goodness for that !

I got a bit worred about letting my spare go

it makes me feel sfe to know I have another engine in the shed !

Thanks anyway for the offer of head BVS ;)

 

At the end of the day the car is ten years old and TBH, if one supplier of Expert servicing is unable to change a spark plug for a number of years then anyone can get it wrong. It is in a local service centre being fixed. They managed to remove 2 normally, 2 broke, one was only actually being held in place by the DIS pack. one broken SP body is out and they are removing the last one and skimming the head, + new gasket. So hopefully will almost drive like new.
