I can fit a standard hardtop on mine no problem at all.

Yes, it is a Safety Devices cage.
If I were you, I wouldn't bother fitting one until you actually need to. It's gonna trash the interior of your car and make panel fit less than (Lotus' version of) perfect and be awkward in regular use. If you're serious about racing the car, then half the things you've already done will be ripped out in the name of weight saving anyway and you'll not care about the cosmetics.

They must have changed the design then because no way would it fit on mine
