Well after removing the gearbox and replacing Slave cylinder and flywheel and clutch I started it up today and there's gearbox oil dripping for the bell housing where it joins the engine :-( Anyone know what could be causing this?

Definitely gearbox oil? Only place it could come from is the input seal but unusual for that to leak!

Double check its gear oil.It could be brake fluid from the slave cylinder. If you put any pressure on the slave cylinder before it was completely assembled they can leak under pressure.

It's dripping from the inside of the housing. Didn't leak before.

If you are really leaking (red) gearbox oil then bleeding the clutch won't make any difference.

The only places it can leak from are the drive shaft seals and the level plug. Clearly it is one of those, so the only other possibility is that you've cracked the casing somehow, or that the 2 halves of the casing have a gap/crack due to lose bolts holding the 2 halves together.

Hard luck mate.

It only started leaking after running the engine. Turning out to be a nightmare. :-( Imagine the casing would be difficult to crank? I guess if it were a drifts haft seal it would be leaking from outside the box?

Brake fluid is a lot thinner than gear box oil it will leak out easier , Double check the slave cylinder.

As Nev said if its gear box oil these are your places to look ,Drop the box if its a crack a gear box repairer may be able to mend the casing

Could it be a faulty seal on the new clutch cylinder? Think it's called input seal?
