Could it be a faulty seal on the new clutch cylinder? Think it's called input seal?

I can't really see how it could be anything to do with the slave cylinder, that device is only connected to the hydraulic clutch fluid system (which is most probably a clear/yellow liquid). The slave cylinder is never in contact with the red gearbox oil.

If you are getting red transmission fluid coming out of the bottom of the F23 it must be leaking from inside the gear/cog compartment into the bell housing by the sounds of it.

If you can take the box off, and search for witness marks of the fluid, I suspect you will find a tiny crack somewhere, a quick spotweld on it might fix it, or possibly use some epoxy/liquid metal on it.

Good luck.

Thanks Nev. I'll report back once it's back off

the slave cylinder has an oil seal for the input shaft, so either it's not sealing correctly or it's missing

Planning to drop the box again tomorrow night. I assume the new CSC comes with a new seal? I remember rubbing fresh gear oil onto a seal

Yes the back of the slave cylinder has a shitty o ring which was a funny shape on mine so had to hold it in place with a few dabs of grease to make sure it stayed in the correct place.

there are two oil seals on the slave cylinder, one for the input shaft and the other to seal the input bearing.

You might have bolted on the slave cylinder slightly off centre.

Mine leaked after I had a new clutch, slave cylinder, flywheel and pressure plate. It leaked from the driveshaft seal.

New slave cylinder arrived and installed. Old one sent back to manufacturer for warranty claim. Gearbox and driveshafts reinstalled. Hopefully get it running again at the weekend and hope all the oil leaks have stopped.
