So after my last TD at a wet and oily Bedford in November the satsuma went away for Winter.

Literally didn't turn a wheel, isolated the battery, overinflated the tyres and left it alone until last week.

Big thanks to Matt B who did the service, found the coolant leak and gave good financial advice too 😄

Oh, while it was in I decided to get a compression test done as well as Dr Bentley whipping out the bore scope....

Wheels were removed and dropped off at Pristine Wheels for a refurb and respray.

Collected the car today and have thoroughly enjoyed getting back behind the steering wheel...here's to a good Summer...

Good stuff, look forward to seeing it again at some point. Mines been out and about getting tatty over winter, and another '1,000 mile in week' special about a month back. About 700 in one day in fact. Masochistic with those hard backed seats ;)

Becoming more like Techie everyday it seems : Check.

Useless fcuking things (and I even drove mine the week before last). :D I'm looking, again, at a big Euro trip in the summer and am seriously contemplating the benefits of buying a Boxster or Z4 convertible for the trip and then selling it after. Even the newer Alfa Spyder's are more appealing than two weeks sweating my nuts off in the VX, wrestling it around hairpin after hairpin whilst listening to the front clam grinding around the apexes, all whilst shattering the peace and quiet of the Alps and Dolomites. Figure if we did the trip in early summer, there's still be summer enough to flog the car on.

IMO don't bother with the Alfa. I know the old man had the V6 version and it drank like Dave E at a free bar; but I just wouldn't trust one for the Euro trip. Think I'd prefer an MX5 to one :D But yes Z4/Boxster would be the ticket.
