As part of my respray I've bought new seals for my VX, while looking at the seal types I noticed there is a wind noise reduction seal on the Elise/Europa/Exige past 2007. It sits against the windscreen surround and creates a tight seal between the side window and windscreen, reducing wind noise as will as creating a more weather tight seal.

This has been a significant source of wind noise for me previously, so I hope this will improve things.

The part is £16 per side and is coded A117U0508F and A117U0509F. Can be had from the usual suspects including here: http://www.deroure.c...&SMO=0&ST=&SC=0 Part numbers 15 and 15a

These would be ideal for me! Is there any improvement or are you yet to find out?

Just taken it out for a quick drive, there are massive improvements. I found previously I could stop most of the wind noise by putting my finger in between the soft top seal and windscreen cup. This blocks that entire area.

For anyone planning on fitting this, the flat tongue goes under the windscreen surround.

Also, there are improved 'wind Cheaters' the Trianglular Seals near the mirrors that fit the VX for about the same price from Chris Neil.

Ahhh. That's where they fit. I ordered a pair with all of the other seals from Lotus 5 or 6 years ago and couldn't work out where they fitted. I thought they fitted to the door itself, somewhere at the hinge end but couldn't figure out how. Wonder if I binned them in the end along with the useless "cheater" seals or whether they still live in the room of doom.....

Oh the cheater seal, that's the one that runs from the mirror down to the bottom of the door frame? Yeah, solved a problem that didn't exist for me.

JG, i'll get photos when it's all back together - most of the interior is now back in, however the front clam has come off so I can refit the V and fog lights. Just waiting for new NACA ducts and diffuser edging before I can put the under tray back on. Then there's the small issue of my headlight covers being in China.

thanks I think I might need these too as the wind noise can be irritating and also when it rains much it leaks water on the drivers side :D

This looks great, can see if cutting a lot of wind noise. Where is the best place to buy them from? (From Deroure?) Can anybody confirm the part numbers for the improved cheater seals?

One note for anyone using this as a reference, I re positioned the seal approx. 1 cm higher, this brought the bottom of the seal in line with the 'crease' on the windscreen surround where it goes behind the bodywork. I'll get a photo tonight or tomorrow for clarity.
