As some of you may know I am about to be moving off to Thailand, as such my daily driver is now up for sale.

It is a 2004 Jaguar XJR, fully loaded as you can probably imagine... leather everything electric seats, sat nav, cruise control, dual zone climate control, air con through to the back, xenon lights, memory seats,  20" beautiful alloys, parking sensors front side and rear, air suspension the lowers at speed etc etc etc.

the 2004 model is the best looking one, in my opinion, slightly updated from the old 308, but not trying too hard with the "lets make it look modern" later face lift models which was not so well received. The x350 is the aluminium body, much lighter, bigger engine more power beast of a sleeper. In black which makes it look great, with cream interior, the 20" alloy wheels, and the green "turtle" option. The inside is stunning, body work is great and I have just paid for a scratch to be removed from the side thanks to a careless driver carrying branches in his trailer.

This is a beast of an engine, 4.2 V8 Supercharged, 400bhp and purring lovelyness! I will be honest I get an average of 26 mpg out of the car, anyone that says they get an average in the high 30s is not to be trusted. I do a 50/50 split of town and motorway driving, obviously on the motorway I am getting mpg in the mid to high 30s, but around town obviously less. The car is effortless to drive, press the "S" button for even more fun, press the "TC" button for a lot more fun...

I will endeavour to put up some pictures tomorrow when I have my camera.

And I should have mentioned, full MOT, literally just been serviced today, service history present, 2 new front tyres (if someone on here buys it I will also put on two new rear ones as well). This will be also advertised on ebay at considerably more as they go for crazy money on here, they were a frightening price brand new. these do not look dated especially inside and the comfort and ride is second to none.

I am based down in Bristol/Wales and am on holiday so I may be able to deliver at cost. And because I would rather have it sold before I go I may be able to offer a finance deal if the person is a regular member on here.

Bad bits are that there is slight wear on the drivers seat (which could be conditioned out, the built in mobile doesn't get brilliant reception compared to a modern smart phone and there are scuff marks on the chrome inserts on the front bumper (paint work is perfect all round), these can be easily replaced or wait for one to come up breaking, if you wanted new they ate £70 each from Jag, it is never bothered me.

Priced at £7000 and it will be going up on ebay for £7500 and wont be having two new rear tyres, because people on ebay aren't as nice as people on the vx forum!

Drop me a text and I will respond with some pics for you if you are in quick need of them. 07720567843

-Everyone needs to own a V8 at some point ;)

Dave.

Just noticed one of the pictures of the inside has the cover missing from the ignition barrel. I have a new one and will put this on. It was missing when I bought the car.

I will be putting the car up on ebay and pistonheads later on today/tomorrow so if you want to get in on having a look, then now is your chance  :poke:

I should add it also has 5 months tax on it as well.

Love it. I used to run an S Type R with the same engine, was phenomenal but doing 99% around town I struggled to get over 16mpg from the steel bodied heavyweight. It's utterly sensible though depending on your point of view. Compare it to a 15k new car, the jag won't depreciate the same and the money saved will pay for every running cost you can think of. Cheap tax too because of the age, less than a new Mini Paceman! Would make an epic 2 car garage with a VX. GLWS.

Thanks Pete, it is surprising the difference between these and the older x308, bigger engine, more power, stiffer, lighter and a lot more up to date. I always liked the S Type (sting playing in the background obviously!), great looking car in my opinion, the type R in those is even more rare than these. Insured test drives are welcome...

Thanks KurtVerbose, I know you have had the Jag itch for a while. I have been out in the new XF and XJ and they just don't have the driver space of the old ones, I was surprised how small the XF felt (but I am well over 6 foot), and expected the new XJ to be bigger, which it was, but not by much.

Well as you know I'm also well over 6 foot, so that's a bit of a disappointment. :)

That's a lot of car for 6k. If I wasn't doing 70 miles a day, I'd bite your bloody hand off
