z22yh can be made to fit, but obviously not with a z22se ECU.   Are you using single electrode plugs ? Try some standard vauxhall triple electrode plugs  ;)   Or you could try the Dutch software  :P

I have a z22yh coil pack in the garage :-) I am using Single electrode plugs People who are running the Dutch are having the same problems ;-)

try the triple electrode plugs first or Bosch 4's

I have heard of mis-fire problems with single electrode plugs on the z22se, even on a standard engine

I'd always assumed that was marketing bollox? Is plug indexing worth a shot? Completely free and I assume it could only help.

I'm guessing you can't adjust the gap on those?

Lee how dose your stand alone ECU detect the cam position? I think the Saab heads had a cam sensor location (could be wrong) std ECU uses Ion sense in the coil pack. Or dose the ECU use crank position alone? Could there be an accuracy issue at high rpm? This is just guesswork sorry but thinking this has only been an issue since fitting the standalone.

I would try what you have in mind, coil and crank sensor. I have started replacing all the sensors now as they are over 10 years on mine.

What problem are people running on the Dutch with a misfire?

Only Chris UK, Nick and you luke running the OBD and Harrop so who is also having the misfire problem? Std misfire check dosnt work once supercharged so it is disabled in OBD.

I'm not having a misfire problem with the Dutch software. I was having a misfire problem before the Dutch software with the harrop but since going Dutch my misfire went due to being able to switch the misfire check off.

It's moi, when it does happen it's under heavy load/WOT, I'm getting the full 3inch system fitted this week, so fingers crossed the restrictive exhaust is the issue

turning off misfire check isn't helping you

are people running the longer taper seal plug or the Turbo crush washer short plug ( BKR6EIX "6" heat iridium ) ?

then what crank sensor , and how clean is the signal / wiring to the ecu , is it shielded ?

typically is at the point of highest BMEP where the ignition system is most critical

Glad to hear it's finally driveable after months of fcuking about. Hope you get plenty of laps in at Zandvort. Get it sorted and book Silverstone in November! I was going to say you and Mbes are a big advert but I'm not that nasty. Oh sh*t . . .

Nev I will do a full write up and report when it is all finished and had some miles under its belt. Haven't advertised it yet as I want to be 100% sure there are no issues (currently the only VX running one). At this point I don't think there are any issues with the ECU setup. We are about a 6 months into the testing, when lee has done 3 or 4 more track days and some road miles I will release it.

Will be starting the plug and play turbo option in the next few weeks.

If lee is happy for me to put his dyno plot up I will. I can either show just his plot or his vs the std mapped ecu.

Matt
