Anyone else fly a quad copter? Just ordered myself a DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ as a new toy to try aerial flying and video. Just wondered if anyone else was into it?

I have tiny toy quad , the lack of mass means its very fast to respond but harder to control due to lack of inertia

£10 jobbie off amazon , the toy helis on there are also good fun

Just bought a DJI Phantom 1. I really want the Gimball attachment too but i'll see how I get on with the rigid Gopro mount first. Are you enjoying yours Coco? Love to see some footage!

We use the phantom 2 vision @ work. Its packed with a bunch of additional sensors and we added a second camera for live streaming. Very easy to fly. That said I had it hanging off an aerial of a house close by, after the batteries in the controller went flat and it decided to try and get home itself. Good fun and a great way to get some interesting images and video.

I'm seriously considering one of these to film some aerial footage of my road trip in the summer, and also to film my step daughter surfing down the beach. I could launch it off the pier and get some amazing aerial shots of the surfers.

That gimball thing - can you move it from the RC unit? Just wondering how much it's worth the extra expense for the the Phantom 2 over the Phantom 1.

Does the gimball thing move independently so you can turn the camera?

The camera always points forwards, but is 3d gimballed. You can move it up and down from the controller.

Maybe one of these then? http://www.flyzano.com

I'm currently in the process of building a hexacopter with full autonomous flight/mission planning. Originally I started with the idea of using this for practice prior to setting up an aerial survey/inspection company using drones, but new job options have killed that for now. Still hoping I can get this up and running soon for a bit of fun over the summer!

They would be great at a track day for some out of the ordinary vid. Any chance of bringing it to the national 2 if Snetterton would allow it Lee?
