Dave E's car apparently has about 30-40bhp less than Frostys old car but is still a bit spikey in its delivery, you should see him drive a nice smooth SC, by jove hes a quicken.

The one thing that both Frostys and Daves car have in common, is that neither of them have ever mechanically survived a day at Snetterton (then mine nearly didn't either).

Been snetterton twice and both time had problems it's a bit of a jinxed track for me I did find in the very few laps I got in there was lots of grip.

Just to even things up a bit on this thread, I've been out with Dave at Pembrey and Croft and wasn't that impressed. All I heard was excuses, boost pipe this and misfire that :P

Good point Bobby and thanks for reminding me, your obviously as much of a jinx as THAT track, so your banned :P Saying that, although Pembrey was definitely your fault I'm finding it hard to blame you for Croft. It was already broken from the previous track day and guess where that was

this is my first lap in the morning where I made loads of mistakes, didnt know about the yellow and red cones and being thr first lap I didnt push the cornering speeds. Please bear in mind this is the second track day ive ever done and the last one was a decade ago in the rain at Donnington in a Renault 5 turbo. If i wasnt having issues then it would have been alot quicker. My first lap was a 2.13

Just looking back at this after reading your project thread and noticed that you have footage of my VX from 7:25 :)  Your car doesn't hang about! It seemed to be able to pull up to the back of mine without much effort while I was flat out down the back straight.

It would be interesting to see how rapid your car would be without the aero. My VX was probably close to 1050kg (VX + driver + passenger + SC stuff) and running 245bhp so the aero must be holding yours back. Having said that - I know you had a few issues with the turbo, so maybe the true pace is much quicker than shown in the vid...

On a side note, it was good to see my car from your video - it certainly shows how much it's leaning in the corners. Stiffer springs needed for me I think...

@captain vimes, I know from mine that just the gt4 wing gives a lot of drag, but even so I usually hit >155mph on a lot of tracks. Power/torque of the lotus probably compares to mine and you have seen how that looks on just short straight at Brands.

where the downforce helps is to control all the kinetic energy that you generate at higher speeds

@siztenboots going slightly off topic here, but what kind of speeds do you see at brands indy?

Yeh, I come up on yourself on the straight and then let off the throttle completely and then just kept partial throttle to maintain a gap as it wasnt really safe to pass at the time.

I was hitting 131mph down the back straight based on revs, gearing and tire size, so it would depend on how accurate your speedo is to work out how that compares to you.

Im guessing without the aero it would be about the 140mphish.

The car would be alot quicker without the issues as the manifold started leaking exhaust gas into the engine bay after the first lap so I was down a fair bit on power when we met on track.

What did mine look like on track, must have been a weird thing to see buzzing around.
