Last track day I did I clamped my Go Pro to the harness bar but it seemingly couldn't cope with the contrast between inside the car and the sunshine outside so all the view through the windscreen was so overexposed you couldn't see anything. Where do other people mount their cameras? I was thinking of drilling through the top of the dash to create a mounting but that seems a bit drastic!

Thanks. I should have said though that it has to be fixed more securely than double sticky or the sucker mount to get passed the scrutineers when I do sprints.

Thanks Chill. That looks like a newer version than mine but I'll re-visit the manual. Not the first time I've used something without reading the manual (ahem)!

Glad I don' track then, too much to worry about?

Tripod adhesive mount to the top of the windscreen. Never been questioned by any scrutineers.

Checked on GoPro website and I see the newer versions have the spot meter Chill is referring to.  Unfortunately my old camera doesn't have it!  Dear Santa.......

It should be OK for contrast with the roof off.

Just watch this video on You tube which shows what spot metering is and how to set your original Hero up to do it.
