Newer solder melts at much higher temperature due to the removal of lead and RoHS compliance. Don't stick it in the oven.
Both times wherever you are, is it taking power via the USB port?

Not necessarily. There are low temperature solder alloys out there e.g. Bismuth, Indium etc.
But I wouldn't stick it in the oven anyway. No profile control / risk of thermal shock / risk of over temperature of some parts.
