I'm thinking of doing something similar (when I sell my VX!), but with a cheap Mk3 MR2 and a drop in Celica 2ZZ-GE engine (189bhp Celica / Elige engine)..

So bitter Nev. The funny thing is you've got the balls of a stud field mouse in reality. Can't wait to meet soon on your next trackday, so we can compare notes on how not to drive like a cnut. thumbsup

I'm not quite so sure it's looking so cheap with all those nice new bits; doubtless cheaper than a VX though. What does it weigh with fuel (but no driver)?

I wasn't bitter, just that when seeing your rearward opening project canopy I remember thinking to myself it could be highly dangerous if not tackled well. Lo and behold your light fell out and luckily didn't cause a serious accident for the people behind. As for balls, I think you need to get your facts straight before you start casting incorrect aspertions. I've done more risky/adventurous sports than almost anyone I know. Take a look on Facebook or talk to someone who actually knows me before blabbing your mouth off. Sheesh.

Think you will find its still project cheap, we are not cutting costs, spax shocks £100 for the set, TD's £200 (selling std alloys & tyres) only thing we haven't cut costs on are the RSR's.

Also, as the car is 50/50, costs are perfect, parts for the MGTF are mega cheap compared to lotus-style brands.

We have spent less than a set of Nitrons & tyres for my exige total inc track days
