well a bit more done over past few days, dropped everything off at powder coaters so thats a bit more outsourcing done!!

 

adapted screen wash bottle bracket to hold my new battery (didnt want to drill into the chassis)

 

 

i think my rad may have had a little leak!

 

 

gave it a quick clean

 

 

this was the first time i removed the front clam and i have to say its very easy compared to a vx

 

as you can see i have lightweight race arch liners, so have ordered some new ones. (yes you can still buy them new )

 

trial fitted the seats

 

 

cometic  head gasket turned up

 

 

rich actually made a start..

 

 

ooops here is a photo of the head..... Plus found out i killed 3 pistons!!! what do i win?!!

What are the marks on the head from? What happened to the pistons? Do you have photos of the pistons?

Good to see you’ve chosen a half decent battery 😛

3 pistons had holes in, so all the damage to the head was caused by bits bouncing around valves smashing and just general my way to kill an engine lol

Did that to my first Vx engine aswell

rear silicone hoses turned up today

 

 

also some of the powdercoating has been finished

Are you reducing the CR on the engine in anticipation of putting a SCer on it?

Even for a second hand one? Whats too much? Seems the perfect time to do, would it really not be be worth it?

Rarely come up for sale

The Jackson dc5 chargecooler intake is very rare

The Normal one leaks. Still a few grand

The rotrex setup is usually a few grand second hand

This is all on top of the engine rebuild cost.. which is bloody expensive!! But hopefully coming to a end of spending soon!!!

Yea, money is the killer in our car projects. I'm thankful every time I get in mine and it keeps going... one day my engine will die though. *gulp*
