Has anyone used Bridgestone RE002's on the back? And is there any real issue with mixing different tyre types on the front and rear?

Never mind - the garage has sourced some RE040's

Depends what you mean by "Type".  I wouldn't go for track slicks on one axle and road tyres on the other, but similar tyres from different manufacturers are not an issue as long as you realise that it will feel different.  You may like the feel and balance it goves you or you may not.  It's all personal.   As long as you adjust your driving style to feel what the car is now doing then there is no problem with doing this.

I remember turning up to a national and it was suggested that I'd fall off the track in a ball of flames because I had different brands front to rear.       As it turned out, that was the way I liked it and felt most comfortable with the car.

I fitted the S001. Think it's a better newer tyre. Great wet tyre, on my second set now and love them. Same price fitted on my drive a few week back. .

What do you put on the front though?
I have Standard Brigestones at the moment, had F1 s on for a while but found the slightly wider tyre tramlined a bit and I prefered the feel of the narrower standard tyre. May depend how your car is set up or just what you get used too. I have a set of F1s and will put them back on to use them up at some point.
