So after a spending the last 5 days being sofa bound due to the flu (where's the sympathetic violin emoticon!), I spent half hour swapping my ecu kit over for one I bought from a local breaker. See previous three here; http://www.vx220.org...-starter-still/ The car started! :) The car idled like a bag of spanners, doesn't respond to the the throttle pedal particularly well (you need to hold it down for the revs to slowly rise - as if it's in limp mode), the Rev counter on the dash doesn't work and there's a P0115 Fault code. :( Can somebody just confirm that I should be able to plug and play an Astra gsi turbo/z20let ecu kit (ECU, transponder chip & immobiliser ring).

Does it not need to be flashed to get rid of the crap that it don't have, like power steering and ac? It might just need clearing if the vehicle it was taken from had problems???

I'm planning to get it taken to a place locally, but from what I read, I thought this should at least get the car mobile again so I can drive it to said garage. Is there much I can do in OPcom to help my cause and get me moving? I don't have the key code to the new immobiliser receiver, but did have one for the old one?

Sounds like it might be in limp mode.

Isn't p0115 a temp sensor issue ? Maybe it has gone into limp as it thinks it's too hot

P0115 is a Water temp sensor - will confirm tomorrow on OP-com. Still don't understand the lack of Rev counter response though?

You can't run an Astra ECU properly, you'll get shedloads of EMLs and it just won't run properly. Search the site there's a couple times people have tried this.

Oh Tits :(. The cars "stuck" in the garage (drives on an incline to get out and the tow hitch snapped off when being recovered when the ECU went). This was my hope that I could get it to a local garage. Can I do much with OP-Com to re-programme it?

Maybe I should re-phrase my previous comment; "Can someone spell out step by step instructions fit-for-an-idiot so I can do something with it with op-com to re-programme it". I can do basic fault code/output reading but haven't done much else with it. What's a mpps reflash? Thanks for the help so far, at least I don't seem to have bought a duff ECU.

You need to get tech2 to reprogram the ecu to be a vx220 rather than an Astra, with your opcom. Or use the mpps cable and some software to flash in the same stuff. There isn't really a step by step idiot way to do this as its a shade more complex than just blindly following a guide

I've got it booked in at a local garage next week. At least - even in limp home mode - it'll move under its own steam so I can get the car too them!
