Glad it wasn't just me then. I thought the star trek films have lost their star trek essence. They just seemed shiney glitzy almost camp with ott action scenes. So I fear a little for the new star wars films. However that said I've read somewhere that they are very much using props and large hardware rather than over relying on cgi. So we can hope and the second trailer looks quite goodExactly that. It seems these day by saying you're 'rebooting' the genre its just an excuse to pick all the bits out of the old franchise you like and f**k about with / change the rest if it doesn't fit your vision. I hated the new star trek because it was just a scifi film for the younger generation tacked onto the star trek name. The back story about all the characters meeting was just annoying. Crap acting and a ton of cgi...that'll do nicely !well.... I kinda disagree, the new star trek films are good sci-fi films but are not Star trek. So it does worry me a tad...JJ Abrahams made the new star treks awesome so I have high hope for this. With Lucas out the was I think this will be very good indeed.

Massive fan of the originals, the remastered originals and actually never found 1,2 and 3 that bad. Yes there are characters that I wish weren't in it but the story was very good and it had plenty of good plus points.
Didn't care about these new films but after seeing the trailer I'm now REALLY looking forward to this. Going to be a long 8 months!
