Hey guys, I'm in the market for a VX220 NA, would prefer black and I've so far come accross two cars within my budget, one is in Gloucestershire reg no Y959 HNU and the other is being sold by TVR Glen N88 SHW.

The first one seems a bit iffy, seller reluctant to send more pictures and has described the paintwork as poor, the second is a cat D which is a bit off putting too but looks to be in fairly good nic.

If anyone has any information about the two cars it would be most apreciated I've had a quick search for N88 SHW with no luck as that's my main interest and I'll be doing some digging on Y959 HNU today.

Cheers :)

If the one on Gloucester has the red roof and the alcantara dash etc then I know who you mean, I phoned him also just to find out about it and got the same response. I actually wonder if he really wants to sell it or not. Although he did say it has bubbling on it. Personally it set off alarm bells. Best putting a post in the wanted section here you should have more luck.

I thought mine was, cosmetically, a bit of a dog, but that TVR Glen one is fcuking woeful. The interior shot of it soaking wet, wtf?!

CAT D as well, if that's a 7k car, everyone is under pricing.

Cheers for all the helpful responses, pretty much along the lines of what I was expecting heh.

I'm in no rush to buy as currently wringing the last out of my commuter focus currently on 250k. MOT is up in September and it's not going to pass so as long as I've bought before then I'm happy, though obviously the sooner the better.

The red roof in Gloucester was tempting. From the pics as it looked fairly tidy, however the seller's response and the fact that the paint seems pretty poor from what he's said has put me off, something just seems not quite right.

I'll drop a wanted add in and see what that throws up, I notice there's not much activity on the for sale section here - a good sign I'm guessing! (once I've actually got my hands on one that is...)

Forgot about another one near my rents, blue on ebay for £7,750 ono in Cuckfield. It's not black which is a bit of a negative but I'm aware I cant be too picky with the colour, blue is much preferred over silver too. It does however look to have a fairly large crack, though it's not mentioned - only 'bubbling'.

Post in the wanted section is now up so see how that goes!

Black and blue are quite popular colors.

Interesting set of statistics - cheers smiley! :)

Edit: Just realised my poor use of the English language may have lead to some ambiguity - Order of preference is Black, Blue, Red = Silver.

Would take one of the rarer colours too, probably below black but in front of blue, but highly doubt one will crop up.

I didn't want a silver one either. Ended up with one anyway and don't regret it.

Yeh may well end up the same to be honest! Fact Is though if two cars were for sale that were identical apart from being black/silver I'd opt for the black one :)

Get any colour, as long as it's a sound car mechanically, decent price and the body work isn't too bad you can play with it, colour change, black if you wish, then you have a car thats good inside and out?

the only colour I did not want was black when I got my first, coming from a black car it stays clean for about 5 seconds then you start to see all the dust and sh*t on it...

I bought a black one.

I saw it, all glass like reflections and decided yes

I have a Silver NA with a red roof and i'm based in Gloucester too, i think i've seen the other silver one in question driving around before.

I'll be looking to sell mine around June/July time, if you're local you're welcome to come and have a poke around it :)
