Hi Guys
Most take there cars up to stage 4 300ish, seeing cars well over that, how does the vx handle above 300, do they hold traction are they still drivable?
Cheers

I've been in Darcini's which is around this level and its just the same. Seemed nice and compliant, no nasties just fookin fast! He does have different suspension though so the spring / damper rates might eb different.

Think generally, after 300bhp people tend to think about swapping from the awfully calibrated OEM ECU/mapping and move to standalone. No reason the VX chassis won't handle more power, though you will have to make supporting mods.

my reason for asking, was taking to a reputable vx220 tuner, hes running hi car @ over 350bhp, states at that power the car wasn't usable, he will be bringing the power down to 315ish to full enjoy it....i wont mention his name in case you guys send the lynch mob in his direction.
and my real reason spotted the z20let hybrid engine for sale & thinking is it a good or bad idea for me to purchase it ready for a transplant?
Anyone know the history of this engine, would it be a straight gearbox and engine transplant into a vx? i suppose the only other thing that i would need is the ic, ive made contact with the seller just working out if it the right thing to do and costs for the transplant, im mechanically daft :0)

GMS is based on the continent (latvia IIRC?) so don't forget to include shipping and taxes.
As I'm sure Nev and a few others will testify, a VXT above 300bhp is fine as long it delivers the power properly. Too much torque too low down will make it twitchy, up at the higher end it will be fine. Randy's Europa might be worth looking into i think it had 400bhp and performed very well.

Torque spikes in the delivery can/will make the car trickier/more volatile to drive.

The car can do it as long as the engine is properly controled. Although not a ZLET mine has 375bhp and similar torque, no TC no LSD and has full traction in 2nd gear in the dry, provided you don't provoke it. Caution is required when driving any VX anyway, they can bite.

Your missing a trick not having LSD its useful with 170bhp!
sorry for he thread hijack.. :-)
I have an NA with a little over 170 bhp - is an LSD really worth having ? (happy with my power level and done suspension but if theres more to be had with an LSD then I'd like to know more) - what improvement will it give ? (for fast road use that is...)

I know GeorgeBC was not happy at all with his setup.
If people want to draw a torque curve they want, they I can put that in. But most likely its worn out or tired actuator / control solenoid. Remember its a torque demand system that gives same engine response, hot/cold , sea level or up a mountain etc , with lots of safety factors.

Not worth having for road use IMO. Much more likely to see you swapping ends in a mid engined RWD car.
Driving with an LSD is different and you have to get used to it.
