They are by all accounts, one of the best all round road tyres you can buy at the moment (and I mean proper road tyres, not heavily grooved, soft compound semi-slicks..), but they only come in larger sizes (18" +) so unless you're running wheels this size, they aren't really an option.

Just to add, Eagle F1 Asym 2's are a very good road tyre (as I think I've said on here before). Not as much dry grip as my AD08R's (to be expected), but an excellent all rounder. Comparable to the MPSS on some cars, but not quite as potent (much cheaper though!) I've heard.

Buggar only checked availability on the 205/45/17 fronts as I thought that would be the difficult tyre to buy, no 225's. May have a look at the good years, on peak runs I've always been able to slip with the ad08's, I'm not sure they are that great, although I've had nothing to compare them too. They are by all accounts, one of the best all round road tyres you can buy at the moment (and I mean proper road tyres, not heavily grooved, soft compound semi-slicks..), but they only come in larger sizes (18" +) so unless you're running wheels this size, they aren't really an option.

Tyres like the AD08 are great, but are focused on the occasional track-dayer, hence they can take a bit of temperature to feel at they're best. Road tyres work "out of the box" in that respect. Plus they have a more compliant ride, and don't fall off a cliff (grip wise) when its properly cold..
You just have to be honest about your cars actual use, and select appropriately.. I think some people actually like the overly stiff, slightly on-edge feeling you get from semi-slick tyres (which is completely fair enough), but the majority are kidding themselves that they are actually any quicker around British roads with them..

Thanks matey, I may well give these ago. Less than £300 for a set of 4, got to be worth a go with some very very good reviews too.Just to add, Eagle F1 Asym 2's are a very good road tyre (as I think I've said on here before). Pretty tyre, are you on the 180 or 120's and do you use them on the road predominantly?I use NS2R's, for the cost i find them awesome.
