After 2 VX220 turbos and a S2 Exige S I was given the opportunity to purchase a JRSC K20 powered S1 motorsport Elise. I believe the car is well known to forum members as it was once owned by a member. First impressions of the car are brilliant, plenty of low down torque and it looks brilliant. Unfortunately I encountered major issues within 45 miles of buying the car. I managed to shear the NS drive shaft on the way and needed to be recovered home:( I am hoping to get the drive shaft issue sorted next week once I have discovered which garage carried out the conversion. I also believe some work may be needed to increase the cars stability at high speeds.

Hi, yes I believe it is 5 o'clocks old car. The Reg is K20 ROR. I would upload an image but my phone won't allow it. How do you find the cars stability after 120 mph Batman?

Stability is perfect at that speed Chill doesn't know though as he has too much retard and ignition to adjust before then

Keep an eye on the CV boots. They split and that's what causes the failure.

Yes thats my old car. Odd he decided to sell, he said it would be a keeper for many years, he also promised me first refusal!! I never had any problems with driveshafts or boots. They only tend to give problems if you have the ride height too low which I never did but he may have changed that. The car was converted using Maidstone Sportscars parts. It was recently in at BoT for something minor (cant remember what) and Jez said it was still bang on, in fact the owner had done a suspension overhaul recently. "Some work needed to increase high speed stability"? It was ok when I had it, that car did a 50 second lap at Brands Indy!! Whats wrong with the stability?

Andrew Hamilton. He's got two. He's got a white one also that's done a couple of Lotus Cup rounds this season. We're at Brands tomorrow with both cars

I was considering converting the VX to centre seat, it's not that difficult, but it greatly reduces the amount of series you can race in.

Yeah, I was just thinking about what would be involved in converting to a centre seat. Apart from knowing where to find a steering rack from, I reckon the rest of the conversion would be pretty straight forward.
