Hi all, chanced upon a free upgrade as my mate is breaking his modded car back to standard in prep to sell. Now have a TMS 4-1 manifold and sports cat with the Larini backbox. Sounds insane. I've wrapped the manifold pretty snugly but it's pretty close to the rear clam boot wall so I'm wondering if there's anything better I can put on the clam and boot lid to protect them. The heat around the boot lid strut/stay thing is much more than before. Ideally something I can stick on so I don't have to remove the clam again. Thermal velocity and cool Tec both make adhesive shields but no idea what would be best??? Cheers.

Cheers, how does it attach? Does it stick on or need screws to fit? Don't fancy putting self tappers into the clam lol.

Anyone know what size to get and where's cheapest? Nimbus sell 1230mm x 1200mm 1200mm x 615mm 615mm x 600mm While Merlin sell 600 x 300 much cheaper.

600×300 = perfect fit , small rectangle off top right ( pulley end ) and a curve to miss manifold , done 👍

This is what I ended up doing.

I curled the nimbus out oon the drivers side to protect the pipes on the side of the engine from the manifold.

On the drivers side I did similar near the coolant pipes but I ran out of material so cut and remounted the foam shield so it slid in behind the nimbus to make sure the whole back wall is covered. Not sure if it's the neatest or most 'correct' install but there's certainly more space around the manifold now.

The bit by the boot lid I'm unsure of, I could snip it, curl it forward or mould it to the lip of the clam so left it rough for now. I'll see what the heat is like with it as is and if needs be reshape it.

I just did this mod the other day. I will post a pic in a bit but i just measured it up including angles, fitted and bent the top over the clam edge to hold the top down. works a treat.

I'm thinking similar, only reason I'm holding back is they recommended keeping air gaps between the nimbus and the car where possible to avoid heat transfer.

Here is my initial attempt - I will tidy it up once I get a bit more time.  Works a treat as the boot is now nice and cool.  I left the original insulation on.

That looks great, you on standard manifold? I couldn't get the nimbus in with the OEM shield and TMS manifold.

Ah the tullets much easier to fit it with, the TMS one looks crazy with up and over bits so it was only about 1cm from the old stuff.

Ah so there is a gap under the boot floor to slide nimbus into?
